Missions

Below is a list and brief summary of the missions the church at Stop 11 supports.

Northwest Florida School of Biblical Studies

The main purpose and objective of the Northwest Florida School of Biblical Studies is to train God’s people for His service.  We believe this is a most desperate challenge facing the church today in the 21st century.  Many of God’s people are suffering from spiritual malnutrition in knowledge and the practical application of God’s Word.  We need more training in the Lord’s church and more in-depth training in the Word and its application in the fields of service.

The Northwest Florida School of Biblical Studies teaches and trains the average member of the church, with special emphasis on training men to preach the gospel of Christ.  They also train men to serve as elders, deacons, teachers and soul-winners.  Women are also encouraged to take courses and to be trained to serve in the areas in which they are authorized to serve.

Seek The Old Paths

Seek The Old Paths is a monthly publication of the Leoni Church of Christ, Woodbury, Tennessee, and is under the oversight of its elders.  It is mailed FREE, being supported by the contributions of both individuals and congregations.  Its primary purpose and goal in publication can be found in the following passages:

  • “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort [you] that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3).
  • “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:2).
  • “This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith” (Titus 1:13).
  • “But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine” (Titus 2:1).
  • “Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know [them], and be established in the present truth” (2 Peter 1:12).

The Manna Project

The Manna Project is a missionary work under the oversight of the Wewoka, OK church of Christ.  Their mission is to train preachers, preacher training schools, and congregations around the world to be self- supporting by teaching them vocations such as horticulture and sustainable agriculture.  When they become self supporting we can then divert the monies used once to support them to then begin new works around the world and spread even further the good news of Jesus Christ and His Church.

The Malawi Project

As one of the poorest nations on earth, over 50% of Malawi’s population live below the poverty line, with children under 18 constituting more than 50% of the population.   The mission of The Malawi Project is to aid the people of Malawi to get on their feet and chart their own course through various assistance programs.
